winds blow nobody any good (except the power companies, as we turn our heating up!). Seriously, the weather has been confusing: sun, rain, sun, hail, rain, cloud, fog, sun… color me confused! I’ve kept working on my art journal:
The swirls were much less interesting until I colored them in, and it was VERY had to draw the interlaced pictures (there are some fail lines…)
I was going to write in ALL of the white space until roomie 2 said that that would be too busy and that she liked it better like it is. Good thing, too! I would still be on this page… in a month… maybe…
So, this is the one page where I have edited the content, not just the page formatting/brightness. It’s mainly because it’s still kind of an awkward subject. Sorry! Also, please note the failed houndstooth pattern on the X
The hands on the bottom right are blind-contour drawn (look at the object not the paper).
Rabbit looks like she has a sore tummy.. maybe the music is REALLY bad!
More fun words XD and an interesting image… dots and lines… lines and dots…
A friend suggested that, since I was not that pleased with the first Mosrael drawing, I should re-draw the bell sketch. So, this time, I sketched it, pencilled it, and THEN inked it! Needless, I think, to say, I like this one better. Much more interesting composition
Just a refresher, in case this is the first post of mine you’ve read: Mosrael is the name of one of the seven bells that an abhorsen wields when binding the dead or free-magic sorcerers. The concept is from the Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix. Basically, there’s a wall at the northern end of a country called Ancelstierre that divides if from an entirely different place called the Old Kingdom. Ancelstierre has technology, the Old Kingdom has magic and… THE DEAD! It’s Sabriel’s father’s job to put the dead to rest, using a necromancer’s bells to control and banish them into Death. Only problem is… dad’s trapped in death, and Sabriel must rescue him before the dead wreak havoc Ancelstierre at the next full moon! It’s actually more complicated than that XD but no less fun! Alternately, you can listen to Tim Curry’s fantastic reading with the audiobook (available in iTunes and Audible.com). I have both media. They are WIN! And yes, I copied that from an earlier post. Sorry.
The sketch: pencil, yellow pen for body, pencil, orange pen for clothing. For some reason, I really like fur leg-things…
I’ve been stuck from running hills for now, in the hope that it will help my back pain. I should be struck from doing desk work, but… then I would have no income, and that would be… bad. VERY bad. I like being able to pay rent! So I’ve been running streets, about two miles in about half an hour. Nice, leisurely runs
I can’t believe I have to wait until AFTER my birthday to open this! Granted, little sis had to wait longer than I will… but still! Also, both of the “a”s have mysteriously vanished from the box… >_>
Skydrop Earrings and Necklace. Oh, I made some more jewelry! I’ve had these glass teardrop crystals for a couple years, now, but the hinge-back earhooks and twirly toggle clasp are new!
Oh, and if you know what this is, let me know in the comments! I have no idea…
