Working late is not conducive to blogging! So I’m just going to dump some pictures and then go eat dinner!
Alas, Buddy is blurry! I drew him, then he left and I drew everything around him (on the desk, walls, etc). Yes, that is the calligraphy I did for the Chinese New Year celebration! Yes, I drew tiny kanji for my 3×5 inch sketch. Why are you staring at me and shaking your head?
I went skiing with my dad and little sis (and it’s a good thing SOMEONE had her CAMERA PHONE!); I have an excellent vid of Ellie going under a bent tree (think triangle, or massive tree fail), but I can’t figure out how to upload it!
I submitted this for a non-profit’s logo! Jammin’ for the Hungry’s founder makes jam every Monday evening and donates it to people in need!
And this is how it turned out digitally! It was fun to draw! I actually had some with a guitar until the pun occurred to me. /fail
Two recent sewing projects! Left: restitched sash sleeves to electric blue silk dress! Mum helped me with this, as she pinned the back where I could neither see nor place pins with any hope of accuracy or lack of bloodshed. Right: reversible lace/tulle bolero jacket! I didn’t have the pattern I wanted, so I copied this from another little jacket I have and added the sleeves from a shirt I did have! The seams are all cut small and enclosed, so you can wear it lace out or tulle out for different effects! Someday I will post a pic of me wearing it, so you can see how dark it is against skin, but how the lace still shows through clearly!
The start of a logo I’m doing for a friend (for pay, yay!) for her natural beauty products (lip balm, at least, I know of, but I’m being broad to be safe). Weird squeaky faux/solid brush pen of brand unknown (red kanji)! I have a new ink cartridge for my Pentel, but cannot find it! FML. Also, I think that this use of the Papyrus typeface works well. SO glad she didn’t want Curlz or Lucida Handwriting or Harrington or something! If you don’t know what they are, breathe a sign of relief and NEVER google them!
Volunteer project for the same friend: poster for the 2nd Annual AIDS 5K Walk/Run in Corvallis! Note stretched right shoe… for whatever reason, my sketch wasn’t at the angle I wanted, so I futzed with it using Illustrator’s “skew” transformation.
The actual illustrations from Underwater Audio’s Facebook Blog Contest! write a blog post answering the 4 contest questions (where did you hear about the product? How will it help your exercise regimen? Why choose UA? Anything else (LolCats are awesome!) and link the text waterproof iPod Shuffle to the website (as shown), and post your URL in the Facebook comments of any contest post! You have until Wednesday at Pacific Midnight (11:59pm PST). I heart the lolcat (both my illo and my pic stolen from teh int3ern3tz with my text added. Also, Logan’s shoulders are not that narrow… /fail again! I do like how the last one turned out, though! The placement of all the objects is purely imaginged/contrived; I had a reference photo for the Swimbuds and a rendering I’d already done of AQS-02, and I borrowed the extension cord because NO WAY was I going to draw another one! Oh, Frick; as I was tagging I realized that the headphone accent is still blue; I fixed that for FB but you get it blue here.
Yeah, I just noticed that the shadows are inconsistent. Whatever. :/ I want food!!!
